Skater..? I think not.

So I tried out my new skateboard today and I gotta say I was pretty lame. Didn’t even get both feet up on the board, but it will come with time, I hope. I didn’t have any major accidents so its all good except I grazed my little finger on my knee pad, I know only I could do something like that. Can you imagine the damage I could do if I put both feet up? So thats why I'm taking it slow. Plus I bruise like a peach, also I'm a major chicken. Don't worry guys I will start filming the skating so you can see my progress and also laugh at me while I FAIL majorly.

I need some skating tips, anyone know any good tips for major beginners? I think I’m gonna read up and watch some videos.

My board by enjoi.
I stumbled across a blog about a boy called Johnny Romano who had leukaemia, from a young age he was just a natural skater, sadly he past away in 2008 but his story is so inspiring. He ended up becoming one of the youngest pro skaters and the likes off Tony Hawks and other pros supported him with his battle and made some of his dreams come true. They even made him his own decks which still made today and the money raised goes to the wish foundation. He also has a Skate Jam named after him which  I think is pretty awesome.

This is his blog which his parents keep going. His story is definitely worth a read. This kid did such great things in such little time, imagine what he could of done in a lifetime.

So he keeps popping up in my mind when I go to skate or when I'm thinking about it. Just wish I had he natural talent for it but I guess it comes with time and practice and as Matt says "its all about the confidence!". Not stolen from Gok at all.

Anyways I'm gonna go tend to my wounds, hope your having fun guys!
Take care and keep smiling!
:)
